Dr Lesley Dickie

My education and professional background is eclectic and varied, giving me the strong analytical, research and creative grounding to develop strategic philanthropy that really works. My Bachelor’s degree is in Zoology from the University of Glasgow, followed by a Master's of Philosophy in Biological Anthropology from the University of Cambridge.  After some time in the workplace, I then undertook a Doctorate at Queen Mary University (London) in the behaviour and physiology of the mysterious fossa, the largest carnivore of Madagascar. Part of its Latin name is ferox, meaning wild, bold or fierce, and hence the name of my advisory.

I completed a Certificate in Finance for Non-financial Managers from the Open University, a Post-Graduate Certificate in Behaviour Change for Conservation at the University of Derby and unleashed my inner artist through a Foundation in Fine Art at the Art Academy in London.

I worked at the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland, the Zoological Society of London, the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria and most recently the internationally acclaimed conservation organisation, the Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust, where I was the Chief Executive Officer for seven years.  Awarded the highest accolade of the Institute of Directors in Jersey for Excellence in Leadership I was additionally a finalist in the UK Director of the year awards.

I love working with people and achieving great outcomes.  I am a trained facilitator, teach facilitation skills, and a consummate public speaker.  I thrive on exciting and inspiring others in their nature and philanthropic journey.

I would welcome the opportunity to help you and your family achieve the positive impact on our beautiful planet that you desire.

Together we can light those candles…..

Lesley
